Rehabilitation Services

Our experienced rehabilitation team is committed to providing outstanding results and excellent quality of care. Residents are empowered through individualized programs to reach goals of increased independence and ability. Resident families are also encouraged to participate in therapy sessions, caregiver education, and training. Our rehabilitation department is overseen by Dr. Catherine Lee, M.D., board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation.

Our physical therapy team works toward specific goals to achieve the resident’s highest functional level of independence and safety within their living environment and within the community. Physical therapy focuses on the identification and rehabilitation of individuals with physical impairments from a variety of neurologic, orthopedic and cardiorespiratory conditions. Areas of treatment focus may include:

  • Increasing strength, endurance, and range of motion for functional activity tolerance
  • Increasing balance, coordination and motor control for functional activity performance
  • Increasing functional mobility, including wheelchair and ambulation training

  • Wound care
  • Fall prevention and recovery
  • Injury prevention and wellness

Occupational Therapy

Our professional occupational therapists use task-directed activities in the treatment of our residents whose functional abilities, daily activities and independence have been impaired by illness, injury or aging. The occupational therapist trains residents to adapt and function in their social and physical environment by mastering tasks essential for daily living. They also specialize in educating and training residents with various impairments including vision and/or hearing deficits to function safely and independently in their environment with the use of adaptive equipment and techniques.

Areas of treatment focus include:

  • Functional independence training: dressing, grooming, eating, bathing, toileting, cooking and homemaking
  • Assessment, training, and implementation of adaptive equipment
  • Prevention of further disability
  • Home assessments
  • Community integration activities
